Canada, the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Switzerland will be the next countries to be graced by Apple’s iPad on the 28th of May. The launch was delayed by the unexpected demand in the US, which saw sales pass the million mark in 28 days (since its launch on the 3rd of April in the US), beating the iPhone which took 74 days to reach the same milestone.
In the UK O2 and Orange and (thanks to Pocket-Lint) Vodafone, have already planned their data plans for the device, with Orange having the best value plans, only beaten on the daily rate for 3G access by O2. The only thing left to do is to decide how much your prepared to fork out for the device with prices starting at £429, lets be honest though, your going to want the full works so add another £100 to that figure. Makes me wonder if Apple know that not every country deals in dollars. For £429, instead of the wifi only version sold in the UK, you could bag the wifi and 3G version sold in the US and save just over £6.
